For example, AI-generated videos portray leading politicians as figures from iconic movies ranging from Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones to A Clockwork Orange and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

The Times says campaigns disclose using AI technology for the political imagery, so “it is unlikely it would deceive even the most credulous voters.” The significance is the speed at which viral impressions can be deployed.
