Some of the world’s largest journalism publishers want to collectively protect their intellectual property from data-seeking AI models. They announced their call in an open letter.

Signatories include the 2,000-member News Media Alliance in the U.S. and the European Puyblishers’ Council.

They want to negotiate as a group with the tech companies that operate large language models, such as ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Bard (Google), amongst others.
