‘Xinhua says its robotic “new employees” have taken to their roles with enthusiasm, and since launching in November have published some 3,400 reports totaling over 10,000 minutes in length’.

QUARTZ reports the Xinhua News Agency will deploy the world’s first female AI news anchor. This comes three months after the China state broadcaster announced their first AI news anchors in November 2018. They were male. Xinhua says the originals have been upgraded since their debut.
The newest member of the anchor team is named Xin Xiaomeng. Like her two forerunners, her appearance is modelled on a well-known Chinese broadcaster.
