Executives from Ford, JP Morgan Chase, and Amazon have joined others in the software industry to predict coming job displacements from advances in AI. The Wall Street Journal reports Ford’s CEO recently said AI will replace half of white collar jobs in the U.S.
The Journal reports that Shopify‘s CEO informed employees that hiring decisions must be justified by proof that an AI model cannot perform the role.
In May, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei said business and government leaders need to “stop sugarcoating” coming job losses, especially in entry-level positions.
