The next big advance in generative AI appears to be instant video. OpenAI, the company behind the ChatGPT series for text and DALL-E for images, has announced Sora, reports The New York Times.

“Sora” is the Japanese name for “sky,” the Times says, adding that the tech team chose the name because it “evokes the idea of limitless creative potential.”
