AI model-maker OpenAI says users will be able to talk back and forth with ChatGPT and show it images of what they are talking about. OpenAI describes the new capabilities on its website.
Users will be able to select from a menu of five male and female voices with gender-neutral names like “Juniper,” “Sky,” and “Cove.”
The OpenAI voice assistants rival others, such as Siri, from Apple, or Amazon’s Alexa. Beyond personal uses, OpenAI says Spotify will use its technology to translate its podcasts for distribution in other languages.
Another new feature gives users the ability to ask questions about a picture, such as getting assembly instructions or obtaining information about a scene in nature.
Reuters says the upgraded ChatGPT will be available for OpenAI’s Plus and Enterprise subscribers within two weeks.
