CPT-4 is here, announced today by OpenAI, the company behind the GPT series that’s upended technology since its forerunner, ChatGPT, went public four months ago. The New York Times reports OpenAI has opened sales to businesses and developers wishing to build on top of the GPT-4 model.
The story quotes an OpenAI senior executive saying their newest model was trained on an “Internet scale” of English text.
Current capabilities are reported to include an ability to interpret pictures in words and vice versa. The Times reports that planning for future GPTs includes multiple media inputs and outputs.
