A conversation with Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, at DAVOS 2020. He is interviewed by Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum that holds the annual event.
Pichai says he’s encouraged by seeing multiple parties publish guidelines for AI development. They are ‘an early start,’ he says, positive by expressing several common themes, and now the work needs to get more specific.
‘AI is no different from climate. You can’t get safety by just having one country, or a set of countries, working on it. You need a global framework to arrive at a safer world.’
He also touches on quantum computing, explainable AI, technology inclusion, data protection and privacy.
