2019 Turing Award winner Yoshua Bengio discusses the role of intelligent agents, having AI machines understand causality, and how both relate to current limitations in deep learning research.

The Turing Prize is the highest award given in computer science.

Bengio shared the award this year with Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCunn for their collective work on deep learning.

Bengio’s keynote was at the 2019 AI Research Week Colloquium presented by the MIT – IBM Watson Lab.
