Why ‘the wash’?

NAMING A BLOG follows the convention of a signature title to differentiate voice and subject from everything else. In the Wash could mean ‘in with a bunch of other things‘, ‘not ready’, or even ‘all wet’. Take your pick.

It’s intended as an abbreviation of ‘it will all come out in the wash’, the figure of speech sometimes used to suggest ‘the truth will come out over time’. 

The inspiration came while listening to a talk by Dr Fei Fei Li when she said, ‘AI today is closer to a wash machine than Terminator’.
