Axios reports Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei says there’s a need to stop “sugar-coating” the possibilities on the horizon given current growth in AI capability. Amodei suggests particularly hard-hit areas would be in technology, finance, law, and other white-collar positions where many tasks can be undertaken by AI models – especially at the entry level.
Research by Amodei’s company shows present AI deployments concentrate on augmentation – supporting existing tasks done by humans. He suggests this will transition into more automation as the technology matures, and with it, more replacement of present functions.
